Dragon Slayer!

So two whole months have passed since November’s Novel Writing Month, and I still only have maybe seven-thousand words out of the 50,000 words I promised myself to have on December 1st.  That’s alright though!  Through the muck and slime that is my seven-thousand words, a grand story has evolved!  Characters have been conceived, and new places in my world have risen from the deepest oceans in Dalivean!

One character that has introduced himself to my imagination is, Mancat(Working Name…unsure whether to keep him named this, what do you think?).  Mancat at first glance is your typical unshaven backwoods badass.  A ranger of sorts.  A man who walks among trees and wilderness with certainty and respect.  But what is different about this ranger-like character is the fact that hes a dragon hunter.  One of the best in the whole world, if not the best.  Hes unnaturally quick through woods and rugged terrain, and best of all is his attire.  His boots are made from dragon scales, his clothes are made from tough dragon hide(including his cape), and his dagger is forged from dragon bone!  Oh yeah, his preferred weapon is his dagger!  It gets better!  Keep in mind, most of his clothes are custom made by him using the dragon hide from many of the dragons he’s slayed!  The other piece of his wardrobe that to me is just fucking baddass is, in-between his arms he has crafted more dragon hide to make a wingsuit….yes, a fucking wingsuit!   Picture him high on a mountain peak battling this giant black dragon in some dark lair…and as they make their way out of the lair in an epic melee, the dragon takes flight off the cliff face of the mountain…Mancat running quickly behind, dives off the cliff, dagger in hand, and suavely catches up to the dragon as it dives lower to evade him, but its too late!  Mancat lands right on the shoulders and stabs his magical blade into the worym!  The worym roars in agony! You get the picture…To get a realistic perspective on this…watch the following video!

Let me know what you think about this, including if Mancat is a good name…I like it, but at the same timed I don’t…It may just be one of his names, like a nickname, but we will see!  He is not the main character, and so far only makes one or two appearances in the story so far, not to give anything away!

Soon I will be posting the map of the world in which the story takes place, and maybe a few teaser stories…in fact I was thinking if this Mancat character works out, I might write a few shorts on his past, which would give you all a little background and history of world in the book.  I have been building this world for over two years now, so there’s a lot to tell!
